REFLECTIONS

Looking Back….

To the beginning of COVID aka Corona Virus,

Quiet was welcomed in my world

Skies cleared

Noise of the outside world was silenced

Grass was greener

Streets were clearer

Birds songs sweeter

We created ART, played Games, Walked more in the Woods

Mother Earth breathed a sigh of relief

And so did I

In the Middle….

Fewer masks being worn in public

Not my case, still cautious, masks on

Cost of living higher

Gas is up and down, today it is a tolerable $3.15/gallon

Groceries have sky-rocketed, ½ and ½ creamer $5.00/half gallon

Working harder and longer

Building in our City of Asheville has boomed beyond its capacity to provide clean water to all the apartments and homes being built; traffic patterns are constantly changing and within the confines of these changes our government is not paying attention to the overabundance of new people. The environment here has been the alluring factor; national parks, woodland trails, mountains and beautiful vistas, now scattered with houses too big, population bursting at the seams. When will it stop? When will the community I grew up loving safeguard its green space? More trees please! STOP building! Today there are three wildfires out of control! Why? Climate change! No rain for weeks!

Political climate is HOT! A known criminal is running for the presidency again, or so it seems, and no one wants this. How is his happening? Any one of us would have been jailed for the crimes he has committed years ago.

Wars in Ukraine and Israel.

Climate changes with less rain, drought conditions here and a country who contributes to excess waste. I can only change my corner of the world, I recycle, conserve water, share my excess with those in need, share my heart, my art, and my compassion with others, pray to the God of my understanding (a loving God), and then I let go; breathe and believe that all will be well.

The Future….

I don’t know.
