The sun has not risen;
I peer out the Window to see the stars flickering high above in the darkness;
The house is quiet and cool;
My mind wanders in this moment and to the day ahead;
A hike awaits – Somewhere in the Western North Carolina Mountains.
The Fall foliage is beginning to peak and the colours are always so inviting as is the trail.
Walking along a trail with freshly fallen leaves under foot is beautiful and the sound is crisp. Often I reach down and gather a handful of leaves to make a bouquet.
We walk for miles my husband and me.
Grateful for the day, for our legs that carry us and the daylight that illuminates the way.
October – when the skies clear and become a deep blue and the Autumn colours are bright red, orange and yellow. ~ ©Anita Adams
