The end of Januar – the beginning of Februar

the earth is wet, the trees are beginning to bud, irises are up

spring is attempting to arrive

yet, it’s too early for Appalachia

how can some think that climate change is not real? I have no answer to this question. It’s so obvious to me when the irises are six inches out of the ground and the forsythia is beginning to bloom in the middle of winter, not yet in between.
