Mid-Summer’s Eve…..

frog is croaking an evening ‘hello’

bird sings good night day

evening sky is pink and lavender

clouds heavy and thick with moisture

It’s mid-Summer

Pond gently gurgles over the moss and stones

Fireflies will light the pines soon

Yellow daylilies dot the bank among the love grass

and a soft melody plays on a musical device in the living room

She sits quietly smiling – knowing that all is well for the moment and breathes a sigh of contentment knowing that any day could be her last and this day she has lived well
